Stefanakos House is a spacious and airy 76 sq.m. apartment with a stunning 100 sq.m. roof terrace. It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a well-appointed living-room and a balcony with dining table. The roof terrace offers amazing, unfettered views to the village of Spili and the Cretan mountains, and features BBQ facilities with patio furniture, comfortable sunbeds and beautiful planters. Interior

Stefanakos House is situated on the 2nd floor of a two-storey building and you have access to it through a large 12-step stairway. Entering the apartment you will see the modern open plan living-room with its comfortable sofa and the flat-screen TV. Opposite to the living-room your will find a roomy kitchen which provides everything you will need for a self-catered vacation. A small hallway leads to the two bedrooms (one with double bed and one with two semi-double beds), two bathrooms (with shower cabins) and the balcony. All bedrooms are air-conditioned and equipped with flat-screen TVs and excellent quality mattresses and pillows for blissful sleeps. An exterior metal stairway takes you to the lovely roof-terrace.

This beautiful apartment is an ideal starting point for exploration excursions to mountains, canyons or the famous sandy beaches of Southern Rethymno (Plakias, Preveli, Damnoni, Ammoudi, Schinaria, Triopetra, Aghia Galini, etc). The village of Spili hosts two different trails which are parts of the E4 European trail. Also, for those who don’t want to stop practicing during their holiday, within a few steps from the apartment there is a football stadium with free access to jogging lovers, and an open-air basketball court.

Spili is a picturesque village located at an altitude of 430 metres and 28 km south-east of Rethymno Town. Due to its fabulous location the village offers an astonishing view to the sea and the entire surrounding filled with trees, fountains, springs, chapels and churches with wonderful murals.

The village is a transport hub for the south coast of Crete and, thanks to its privileged position, you can find almost all services, such as Banks, Post Office, Health Centre, Police, even congress center near metropolis. Therefore, this place is indicated for visitors, who can combine vacation and exploration without missing anything.

If you are in Spili, it is worth visiting “Kefalovrysi” located in the square with the two plane trees, in the village centre. This is a row of 25 fountains (taps) with the form of a lion head. Around the “Κefalovrysi”, there are taverns with genuine Cretan cuisine, quaint cafes and shops of folk art.

Another attraction of the village is also the traditional watermills and, mainly, one of them which is still in operation. Very popular is the European Union footpath E4 20 “Spili – Gerakari” which passes from the chapel of the Holy Spirit through the olive groves, north of the village. Also, near the village begins the most beautiful gorge of Rethymno, “Kourtaliotiko”, that leads to the famous palm forest of Preveli.

Car hire is recommended. Nearest amenities (super market, tavernas, pharmacy, bank, etc) are within walking distance.

Free access to all amenities of the apartment. In case of a 1 or 2-guest stay, one of the bedrooms and the small bathroom will remain closed. The sofa bed is always available.
